You can not teach creativity; it's innate. You merely give them the materials to express their creativity. Editing is creative, thus, you cannot teach it; you only teach how to use softwares as tools to achieve what they see with the eyes of their imagination.
These are part of what we teach at Jeremiah Corp's school of editing. We teach you theorotical truths on video editing and video production as a whole. You are then put through a 3 day interactive course covering all stages of video editing. On the final day you edit a project on your own and you are awarded a certificate certifying that you have been through the course and have been able to demonstarte what you learnt.
